Marcus: Victoria... is he breathing okay? Is he hurt?
Victoria: He's cold and terrified, but he's breathing. The paramedics need to check his lungs for water.
Officer Miller: Paramedics are waiting downstairs in the driveway. Let's get the child checked out immediately.
Chloe: Marcus, you can't let them take me! Think about our reputation! Think about the trust fund!
Marcus: Do not speak to me. Don't even look at me.
Chloe: You weak idiot! He's not even yours anyway!
The entire room went dead silent. The police officers paused, exchanging brief glances. Marcus froze, his hands lingering over his baby's small blanket. He turned his head slowly toward Chloe, his eyes narrowing into cold steel.
Marcus: What did you just say?
Chloe: You heard me. Why do you think I hated looking at that brat? Every time I looked at him, I saw your brother's face!
Victoria: Don't lie to him, Chloe! Stop trying to destroy everything!
Chloe: Shut up, servant! Tell him the truth, Victoria! Tell him why you're really here working as a nanny!
Marcus: Victoria, what is she talking about?
Victoria: Marcus, please... let's get Leo to the ambulance first. He needs medical care.
Chloe: Oh, running away? Tell him who the biological mother is, Victoria! Tell him right now before the cops escort me out!
Marcus stood up, his gaze shifting between Chloe’s hysterical smile and Victoria’s tear-stained, pale face. The infant wrapped tightly in Victoria's arms quieted down, his small blue eyes looking up at Victoria with complete recognition and comfort—a bond far deeper than any employer-employee relationship could ever explain.
