Daniel pulled off his gold engagement ring and threw it onto the chapel floor, right beside Chloe's fallen bouquet. The metal ring clinked loudly against the marble, echoing through the quiet room.
Daniel: "We are done. Pack your things and be out of my house by tonight."
Chloe: "You can't do this to me! You're ruining my life!"
Daniel: "You ruined this yourself the moment you laid a finger on my daughter."
Two security guards, whom Daniel had quietly called from his phone while walking up the aisle, entered the back of the chapel and walked briskly down the center aisle.
Security Officer: "Ma'am, we need you to step outside peacefully."
Chloe: "Get your hands off me! Do you know who my father is?"
Security Officer: "We have a report of child endangerment and assault. Local police officers are waiting in the foyer."
Chloe screamed in frustration as the officers escorted her and her parents toward the side exit, leaving the chapel in a state of utter shock. Daniel turned around to face the remaining guests, his voice clear and unwavering.
Daniel: "Thank you all for coming. The reception is canceled. Please enjoy your evening elsewhere."
He adjusted Lily in his arms, holding her tightly as he walked back down the aisle, completely ignoring the whispering crowds and flashing phone cameras. As they stepped out into the bright, warm sunlight outside the chapel, Lily wrapped her small arms around his neck.
Lily: "Daddy... are we going home now?"
Daniel: "Yes, sweetheart. We're going home."
Lily: "Are you sad that you didn't get married?"
Daniel: "Not at all, baby girl. Protecting you is the best decision I will ever make."
Daniel smiled down at his daughter, wiping away the remaining tear tracks on her cheeks as they reached his truck. For the first time in years, he felt a deep sense of relief, knowing that his small family was safe, protected, and finally free from the dark shadow that almost destroyed them.
