FABLE

The Legal Battle Begins

A Father's Fury at the School Security Desk

Lawyer Reynolds: The evidence is absolute, Mark. The footage from the indoor security camera is crystal clear and completely admissible in court.

Mark sat in his attorney’s office two days later, holding a copy of the official police report and Leo's medical records from the emergency room.

Mark: Has the school district tried to sweep this under the rug yet?

Lawyer Reynolds: They tried to offer a quiet financial settlement this morning. Five hundred thousand dollars to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Mark: Tell them to take their money and go to hell.

Lawyer Reynolds: I figured you'd say that. We're filing a full civil lawsuit for child endangerment, civil rights violations, and emotional distress tomorrow morning.

Mark: What about her criminal charges?

Lawyer Reynolds: The District Attorney saw the video. They're charging her with felony child abuse. Her bail was set high, and her teaching license has been officially suspended by the state board.

Mark: Good. She should never be near a child again in her life.

Lawyer Reynolds: What about the assault claim she tried to file against you for slapping her?

Mark: Did the DA take it?

Lawyer Reynolds: Dismissed under Defense of a Third Person laws. You acted under reasonable force to stop an ongoing attack on your minor child.

Mark: Thank God.

Lawyer Reynolds: You did what any loving father would do, Mark. Now let us finish this in court and make sure this entire school district pays for turning a blind eye.

Mark stood up and shook his lawyer's hand firmly, feeling the heavy weight of terror finally begin to lift from his shoulders.

Mark: My son deserves justice, and he's going to get every bit of it.
