The Mountain Edge Betrayal

A Groom Vanishes On His Wedding Day Near The Cliff

The morning sun rose bright and clear over the tall peak.

Sarah adjusted the white veil resting softly on her hair.

She looked across the high mountain lookout at her fiancé Mark.

Mark smiled back as he straightened his black suit jacket carefully.

They had chosen this outdoor cliff spot for their private vow exchange.

The air felt cold and crisp near the rugged stone wall.

Suddenly heavy footsteps crunched on the gravel behind the big rocks.

Sarah turned around quickly with a look of pure confusion.

Her ex-boyfriend Jason stepped out into the bright sunlight.

Mark stepped forward to protect Sarah from the sudden visitor.

Mark: What are you doing here today Jason?

Jason: I came to stop this wedding from happening!

Sarah: Please just leave us alone right now!

Jason rushed forward before anyone could react or speak up.

He lunged directly toward Mark with a sudden violent push.

Mark lost his balance on the loose rocks near the steep edge.

He tumbled backward over the ledge into the deep canyon below.

A loud gasp escaped Sarah's throat as she watched him disappear.

She did not move toward the edge to look down at all.

Instead she reached out and took Jason's hand tightly in hers.

Sarah: Let us go before anyone sees us up here!

Jason: Hurry up down the path to the vehicle!

They ran quickly down the dirt mountain trail together in silence.

Their fast footsteps kicked up clouds of dust along the road.

At the bottom of the hill stood a small roadside chapel.

They burst through the heavy wooden doors without stopping once.

The quiet room smelled of fresh wax and old pine wood.

An elderly justice of the peace looked up in absolute surprise.

Jason pulled a gold ring out of his coat pocket quickly.

Jason: Marry us right now without any delay please!

Sarah: We need to do this immediately sir!

The official nodded slowly and opened his small black book.

They exchanged short vows while staring into each other's eyes.

The gold ring slipped onto Sarah's shaking left finger easily.

Official: I now pronounce you husband and wife together.

Sarah breathed a heavy sigh of relief inside the quiet chapel.

They left the chapel right away to carry out their plan.

Meanwhile Mark's elderly parents were waiting at the main house.

They sat together on the sofa in the living room.

The hours passed by without any call or message from Mark.

His mother checked her phone for the hundredth time that afternoon.

Fear began to build up inside the quiet suburban home.
