Uncovering The Greed

A Maid Saved His Mother While His Wife Stole Her Life Savings

Victoria took a slow step backward, her back pressing against the polished mahogany railing of the grand staircase.

Victoria: That's absurd! Why are you looking at me? Bank errors happen all the time!

Ethan: Bank errors don't route wire transfers through offshore dummy corporations in the Cayman Islands, Victoria.

Evelyn: Two million dollars? Ethan, that was the money your father left to cover my specialty treatments and home hospice!

Ethan: She knew that, Mom. She drained the account using your forged signature on a counterfeit power of attorney form.

Elena stood beside Evelyn's wheelchair, placing a comforting hand on the trembling elderly woman's shoulder.

Elena: Mrs. Vance, take deep breaths. Please don't let your blood pressure spike.

Victoria: You have no proof of anything! You can't accuse your own wife of a crime based on circumstantial rumors!

Ethan pulled a thick manila folder from his leather briefcase and tossed it squarely onto the marble floor at her feet.

Bank statements, notarized signature comparisons, and IP address logs spilled out across the tiles.

Ethan: Read page four, Victoria. The wire transfer originated from your personal laptop, logged into the mansion Wi-Fi at 2:14 AM on Tuesday.

Victoria: Someone must have hacked my network! You know I don't understand complex computer systems!

Ethan: Stop lying! The destination account is registered under your maiden name and social security number!

Victoria stared at the documents, her face draining of all color as the reality of the trap closed in around her.

Victoria: Ethan... please... let me explain. I was going to put it back!

Ethan: Put it back? You bought a penthouse in Miami yesterday afternoon! The title deed is right there on page nine!

Evelyn: You tried to leave me with nothing so I would be forced into a state-run facility to die alone!

Victoria: You're eighty-two years old, Evelyn! You don't need millions of dollars just to sit in a wheelchair all day!

The entire room gasped at the cruel words hanging in the air.

Elena: How could anyone be so heartless to an elderly woman who welcomed you as a daughter?

Victoria: Shut your mouth, you peasant! You're nothing but hired help!

Victoria lunged forward suddenly, trying to grab the folder from the floor, but Ethan blocked her path.

Ethan: Step away from those documents right now.

Victoria: Ethan, you can't do this to me! Think about our reputation in high society! Think about your company stock!

Ethan: My company values integrity. You possess none.

Victoria: If you file for divorce, I will drag this through every tabloid in the country! I will demand half your net worth, alimony, and the Texas estate!

Ethan: Have you forgotten the prenuptial agreement you signed before our wedding?

Victoria let out a cold, mocking laugh, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

Victoria: That prenup only limits my payout in a standard separation! It doesn't void my marital rights!

Ethan: Clause fourteen, paragraph B: Any intentional criminal act, felony fraud, or grand larceny committed against a member of the Vance family results in immediate forfeiture of all marital claims.

Victoria froze, her mocking laugh dying instantly in her throat.

Victoria: What did you say?

Ethan: You walk away with nothing, Victoria. Not a single cent.
