Victoria: You can't just cancel our wedding! We signed a prenup agreement last month! My father's law firm represents your investment firm!
Marcus: Then tell your father to prepare for a lawsuit, because I am pulling all of my firm's capital out of his management by five o'clock today.
Victoria: You... you wouldn't dare. You would lose millions in severance fees!
Marcus: I don't care if I lose every single cent in my bank account today, Victoria. I survived living in a one-bedroom apartment with my mother eating canned beans, and I was happier then than I have been standing in this cold penthouse with you.
Victoria: Marcus, please... think about this logically! We can talk about this! I'll apologize to her! I'll buy her dinner right now!
Marcus: Get your bags and leave. My property manager will be up here in ten minutes to collect your keycard and change the biometric door locks.
Victoria: You are making the biggest mistake of your entire life! You'll come crawling back to me when you realize what a public scandal this is going to be!
Marcus: Take your designer suits and get out of my home.
Victoria stood frozen in total shock and disbelief, her mouth agape as she looked from Marcus to the crying mother he was still holding tightly. Realizing that Marcus's eyes were cold and completely devoid of love for her, she let out a sharp gasp of rage, turned on her high heels, and stormed down the hallway toward the master bedroom to pack her belongings.
Evelyn: Marcus... son, no... don't ruin your marriage because of me! I can just take a few dollars and leave... you don't have to throw away your whole life with her!
Marcus: Mom, look at me. She didn't just disrespect you today. She showed me who she really was. You didn't ruin anything—you saved me from making the worst decision of my life.
Evelyn: But your wedding... your status... what will people say?
Marcus: Let them say whatever they want. Status doesn't buy a soul, Mom. And money means nothing if I can't protect the woman who gave up her whole youth just to make sure I had a future.
Evelyn: I just wanted to see your face... I missed you so much, Marcus.
Marcus: I know, Mom. I missed you too. And you are never going to be lonely again.
