Billionaire Fired His Bride After Finding Her Safe Secret

The crystal chandelier trembled as the slap echoed across the grand marble foyer.

Evelyn: You disgusting thief! Empty your pockets right now!

Sarah: Please, ma'am! I didn't touch anything in this house!

Sarah dropped to her knees on the cold tile, clutching her worn canvas apron with trembling fingers. Tears burned her eyes as the bride stepped closer.

Evelyn: Don't play dumb with me. My diamond heirloom necklace is missing from the master bedroom safe, and you're the only person who cleaned upstairs this morning.

Sarah: I swear on my life, Miss Evelyn. I was only wiping down the mirrors in the guest hallway. I never went inside your suite!

Evelyn: Shut up! Look at you. You can't even afford your rent, and you think you can walk out of this mansion with my jewelry?

Evelyn raised her manicured hand again, ready to strike the weeping maid across the face. But before her hand could land, the heavy oak doors swung wide open with a sharp bang.

Carter: What the hell is going on in my house?

Carter Vance stood in the entrance, his sharp grey eyes cutting through the foyer. He dropped his leather briefcase onto the console table and walked directly toward the two women.

Evelyn: Carter, honey! Thank God you're home. You need to call the police immediately. This gutter rat stole from us!

Sarah: Mr. Vance, please believe me... I didn't do it.

Carter looked down at Sarah's shaking shoulders, then up at his fiancee's smug, furious glare. He didn't dial 911. Instead, he slowly reached into his suit jacket and pulled out his private cell phone.

Carter: Are you completely certain about what you just said, Evelyn?

Evelyn: Of course I am! Check her bag. It's right there in her cheap black purse!

Carter tapped the screen of his phone, turning the display toward her face with a look of pure stone.

Carter: Then you're going to have a very hard time explaining what I'm looking at right now.
