Clara: "It's finally over, Marcus. We can finally breathe."
Dr. Evans: "It's over for them, Clara. For us, it's just beginning."
Clara: "What are we going to do with the estate and the trust fund?"
Dr. Evans: "We're liquidating the mansion and placing every single cent into a charitable foundation for pediatric care."
Clara: "Are you sure? That trust fund is worth tens of millions of dollars."
Dr. Evans: "That money was built on lies, control, and pain. Leo doesn't need millions of stolen dollars to grow up happy. He just needs a family that loves him."
They walked out of the heavy bronze doors of the courthouse into the bright afternoon sunshine. The air was crisp and clear, washing away the dark shadow that had hung over their lives for so many months. Marcus wrapped his arm around Clara’s waist, leaning down to kiss the soft head of baby Leo, who let out a sweet, gentle coo into the warm breeze.
Clara: "Where are we going to live now, Marcus?"
Dr. Evans: "Somewhere quiet. Somewhere far away from boardrooms, family politics, and secret safes."
Clara: "A small house near the coast?"
Dr. Evans: "A small house near the coast sounds like absolute perfection."
Clara: "Do you think your mother will ever understand why you did this?"
Dr. Evans: "Eleanor only understands power and money. She will never understand that love is something you can't buy, forge, or steal."
They reached their simple family car parked along the tree-lined street, away from the flashing cameras of the news reporters gathered on the courthouse steps. Marcus carefully secured Leo’s child seat in the back, checking the harness twice before closing the door with a gentle click.
Clara: "Thank you for choosing us, Marcus. Thank you for coming through those double doors that night."
Dr. Evans: "I will always choose you, Clara. Every single time."
As they drove away toward the open highway, leaving the city skyline and the courtrooms behind them forever, Marcus looked in the rearview mirror one last time. The past was finally where it belonged—locked away—while the bright, clean future stretched out endless and free before them.
