Maria stared at Arthur in complete disbelief. The room was deathly quiet except for the hum of the air conditioner.
Maria: "What are you talking about? She carried that baby!"
Arthur: "It was a surrogate process, Maria. Victoria pretended to be the biological mother to secure her place in my late father's estate. My father left a fifty million dollar trust fund that activates only if I have a biological heir."
Maria: "So... Victoria lied?"
Arthur: "Not just lied. Last week, I demanded a DNA test because I suspected she was cheating. The results came back three days ago. Chloe is my biological daughter through a surrogate, but Victoria has zero genetic relation to her."
Maria: "Oh my god..."
Arthur: "Under our prenuptial agreement, if Victoria was caught fabricating medical records or faking maternal bloodlines, she gets divorced with zero settlement—not a single penny of my family wealth."
Maria: "So when you found out, she panicked?"
Arthur: "She knew if the baby was gone, she could blame it on you, claim emotional distress, and force a massive cash settlement before the divorce went through. She tried to destroy my child to protect her payout."
Maria covered her mouth with her hands. The pure greed and evil of the woman shocked her to her core.
Maria: "Where is she now?"
Arthur: "She thinks I still believe her story. She's at the estate right now, preparing her legal demands. But she doesn't know I have the video evidence, and she doesn't know you're here."
Lawyer: "Miss Santos, we want you to accompany us back to the mansion. The police are waiting."
