Raymond: Murder? Are you insane? You went for a swim, Clara! You slipped off the deck!
Clara: You pushed us off your dinghy in three-degree water, stripped off our life vests, and drove off with your mistress!
Veronica: I didn't know anything about water! He told me she was fine!
Clara: You watched from the yacht deck, Veronica! I saw you hold the towel he handed you while my child begged for her life!
Lawyer Hayes: Raymond, is this true? Did you attempt to eliminate the rightful heir to the estate before signing this transfer?
Raymond: She’s lying! She has no proof! It’s her word against mine, and I am the majority shareholder of Vance Enterprises!
Clara: I don't need just my word, Raymond. Show the video, Detective.
Detective Miller clicked a remote control aimed at the massive projector screens hanging behind the main podium. The bright room dimmed, and audio of screaming wind began echoing through the ballroom speakers.
Ella (on recording): Daddy! Please don’t go! It hurts, Daddy!
Raymond (on recording): Get your hands off the side of my boat, Clara! I told you we were finished!
High-definition footage played across the forty-foot screen. It showed Raymond reaching down, peeling Clara’s freezing fingers off the boat rail, and speeding away while Clara struggling to keep Ella’s head above the white foam waves.
Raymond: Where... where did you get that footage?!
Captain Vance: From my harbor security camera mounted on the fishing vessel buoy tower, you coward.
Raymond: That camera was supposed to be offline for maintenance!
Captain Vance: I turned it back on this morning. I knew a snake like you would try something filthy eventually.
Investigator Miller: Raymond Vance, you are under arrest for two counts of attempted murder, child endangerment, and felony fraud.
Raymond: Clara, please! Think of Ella! If I go to prison, who pays for her medical bills?!
Clara: Her medical bills are fully covered by the estate trust you tried to steal. You will never see her again, Raymond.
