Lawyer: Sign right here on the blue line, Mr. Miller.
Ethan took the heavy fountain pen from Mr. Pendelton’s hand and signed his full legal name on the thick parchment document sitting on the desk.
The legal office on the top floor of the downtown skyscraper was silent except for the soft ticking of a grandfather clock in the corner.
Lawyer: Congratulations, Ethan. You are officially the sole owner of Miller Real Estate Holdings.
Ethan: Thank you, Mr. Pendelton. This changes everything for my life.
Lawyer: Your grandfather specifically wanted you to have full access without any trustee oversight.
Ethan: He knew I was struggling with my own career path these past few years.
Lawyer: He followed your life closely, even when you two were not speaking directly.
Ethan looked out the massive glass window overlooking the entire city skyline below. He felt a deep sense of relief wash over his tired shoulders for the first time in years.
Lawyer: The funds have already been wired into your primary bank account as of twelve o'clock today.
Ethan: I want to clear all my personal debts immediately before doing anything else.
Lawyer: My assistant can process your debt payments directly through our corporate escrow account today.
Ethan: Here is the full list of credit cards, medical bills, and our house mortgage balance.
He handed the stack of notices he had brought from his coffee table to the lawyer’s young assistant sitting nearby.
Assistant: I will submit these electronic wire transfers right away, sir. They will be cleared by tomorrow.
Ethan: Make sure the mortgage on the house is paid off entirely in my name alone.
Lawyer: Is your wife's name listed on the original title deed of the residential property?
Ethan: No, the house was bought under my name before we ever got married last year.
Lawyer: That makes the process much simpler under state property laws, Ethan.
Ethan: I also want to file for an immediate legal separation and divorce proceeding by tomorrow morning.
Mr. Pendelton nodded slowly, pulling a set of fresh white divorce forms out from his wooden desk drawer.
Lawyer: Did she abandon the marital residence voluntarily without your consent today?
Ethan: She packed her bags and moved out to Texas three hours ago because of my debt.
Lawyer: Then we will file under abandonment grounds immediately to protect your new financial assets.
Ethan: Ensure she receives zero alimony or claims against this new inheritance fund.
Lawyer: Under our state law, inheritances received after abandonment are strictly protected separate property.
Ethan signed his name on the preliminary divorce petition with a steady hand. He felt no hesitation or sadness left in his heart as he passed the papers back.
Ethan: Please serve her with these divorce papers as soon as she lands at the airport in Dallas.
Lawyer: Our local process servers in Dallas will be waiting at her mother's address by five o'clock tonight.
Ethan stood up and shook the lawyer's hand firmly before walking out toward the elevator. He pulled out his phone and saw three missed calls from an unknown number, but ignored them completely.
