Confrontation at the Firm

She Walked In On Her Husband With Another Woman

At nine o'clock the next morning, Sarah walked confidently into the sleek glass skyscraper of Miller & Associates Accounting.

Dressed in an elegant charcoal suit with her hair pulled back neatly, she carried a leather briefcase containing copies of Mark's financial records.

Karen walked by her side, carrying official legal notices stamped by the county court clerk earlier that morning.

They bypassed the front reception desk and headed straight toward the executive boardroom on the top floor.

Through the glass walls, Sarah could see Mark sitting at a long mahogany table alongside the senior managing partners of the firm.

Brenda was standing near the back of the room, handing out printed financial briefs for the morning meeting.

Sarah pushed the double glass doors open without knocking, stepping boldly into the middle of the executive meeting.

Mark: Sarah? What on earth are you doing here?

The managing partner, an elderly man named Arthur Vance, looked up from his glasses in total surprise.

Arthur: Mrs. Miller? Is there an emergency?

Sarah: Yes, Mr. Vance, there is an emergency regarding severe financial malpractice happening inside your firm.

Mark slammed his hands onto the mahogany table, pushing his chair back in panic.

Mark: Security! Get these people out of here right now!

Karen: Sit down, Mark. I am an officer of the court serving a formal subpoena and asset freeze order on your firm.

Arthur Vance raised his hand, signaling the security guard at the door to hold his position.

Arthur: Hold on a second. Karen, what is the meaning of this subpoena?

Karen: Your senior partner Mark Miller has been utilizing company servers and paralegal staff to hide marital assets and alter firm ledgers.

Brenda's face drained of all color as the entire board turned their eyes directly toward her.

Brenda: That's not true! I didn't do anything wrong!

Sarah opened her briefcase and laid several organized stacks of printed emails and transaction logs on the table.

Sarah: These records prove Mark transferred firm client fees into a private account created with Brenda's assistance.

Arthur Vance picked up the top document, reading through the detailed account numbers and timestamped server logs.

His expression turned extremely dark as he looked up from the paper to stare at Mark.

Arthur: Mark, is this true? Did you use our internal servers to conduct unauthorized personal financial transactions?

Mark: Arthur, listen to me, she's trying to ruin me because of a personal marital dispute!

Arthur: This isn't about your marriage, Mark! These are company bank routing numbers listed right here!

Brenda burst into tears, stepping backward toward the corner of the boardroom.

Brenda: He promised me he would protect me! He said no one would ever find out!

Sarah: You both thought you could betray my trust and destroy my life without any consequences.

The room fell completely silent as the gravity of the legal situation settled over everyone present.
