The crowd began to whisper loudly, taking out their smartphones to record the confrontation. Flashbulbs started going off rapidly across the ballroom floor. Richard tried to block the camera lenses with his hands, his calm expression crumbling into absolute panic as the estate lawyers looked at each other in shock.

Evelyn Sterling: Richard, did Thomas actually marry her in secret? Answer me!
Richard Sterling: It was an invalid union! It was never recognized by the Sterling foundation!
Maria: It was recognized by the state court, Richard. We were legally married in Nevada nine years ago.
Victoria Sterling: If they were legally married... then Leo isn't an orphan up for adoption...
