Secrets of the Estate

The Broken Flower Swing

Evelyn: You can't throw us out! Richard is your son!

Eleanor: He may be my son, but he allowed you to step into my late daughter-in-law's house and abuse her child! That makes him just as guilty!

Richard: Mom, I didn't know she was going to cut the swing! I was in the kitchen!

Eleanor: You brought her into this family six months after Sarah died! You let her treat Maya like a stranger in her own home!

Evelyn: That brat gets everything! She has the best clothes, the biggest nursery, and now this whole stupid estate? What about my child?

Eleanor: Your child is your responsibility! Sarah worked hard her entire life, built her own mortgage-free property portfolio, and left every penny in a life insurance policy and family trust for Maya!

Evelyn: Life insurance? How much life insurance?

Eleanor: That is none of your business, you money-grubbing viper!

Richard: Evelyn, stop asking about the money!

Evelyn: No! I gave up my apartment to move in here! You told me you were a millionaire, Richard! You told me you owned a real estate firm!

Eleanor: His real estate firm was funded entirely by Sarah’s savings! And do you know what else, Evelyn? Richard is currently three months behind on the business loan payments because he’s been spending Sarah’s leftover funds on your luxury designer bags!

Evelyn: What?! Richard, is that where the money came from?

Richard: Mom, stop spilling private family business in front of her!

Eleanor: Private? You stole from your dead wife's legacy to buy gifts for a woman who just dropped your baby on a marble floor!

Maya: Hurt... knee hurt, Grandmama...

Eleanor looked down at Maya's little legs and noticed a dark bruise forming on her tiny knee where she had hit the hard floor. Her heart broke into a million pieces, and her expression turned icy cold.

Eleanor: She's bruised. Look at her knee, Richard!

Richard: Oh God... Maya, baby, daddy is so sorry...

Eleanor: Don't you dare touch her! You lost the right to call yourself her protector the moment you let this woman raise her hand against her.

Evelyn: It was an accident! She slipped!

Eleanor: I watched you cut the rope with shears, Evelyn! I have security cameras installed in every corner of this greenhouse!

Evelyn’s face drained of all color as she slowly looked up at the corner of the ceiling. A small red light on a high-definition camera was blinking steadily, recording every single word and action.

Evelyn: You... you have cameras in here?

Eleanor: Sarah installed them to watch Maya play from her hospital bed before she passed away. Every single frame of your cruelty is saved on a cloud server right now.
