Ethan led Clara out of the entryway and into the grand living room. Sitting at the long mahogany conference table was an elderly gentleman in a gray suit, holding a thick leather folder filled with legal documents.
Ethan: Clara, this is Mr. Harrison. He was father’s personal attorney and the executor of his estate.
Mr. Harrison: It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Clara. Your father spoke of you often in his final months. He deeply regretted the distance between you two.
Clara: He remembered me?
Mr. Harrison: He never forgot you. In fact, his final wish was to ensure your absolute financial security and peace of mind.
Mr. Harrison opened the folder and slid a set of official papers across the table toward Clara. She sat down slowly, resting the silver urn gently on the table beside her.
Mr. Harrison: Under the terms of the trust fund, you are the primary beneficiary of the estate. That includes this mansion, the family investments, and a liquid inheritance valued at over twelve million dollars.
Clara: Twelve... million dollars? I don't know what to say. I was just working two jobs trying to pay off my mother's medical bills.
Ethan: Those bills are already paid in full, Clara. Mr. Harrison took care of them yesterday from the estate account.
Clara covered her mouth as tears spilled down her cheeks. For the first time in years, the crushing weight of debt and fear lifted off her shoulders.
Clara: I don't care about the money... I just wish I could have talked to him one last time.
Mr. Harrison: He knew you would say that. That’s why he wrote this letter for you before he passed. He asked me to hand it to you personally.
Mr. Harrison handed Clara a sealed cream-colored envelope. Her hands trembled as she took it, recognizing the elegant handwriting on the front.
Ethan: Take all the time you need, Clara. This is your home now. No one will ever make you feel small or unwanted again.
