Sarah: Mark, please, just put the phone down so we can take Leo to the urgent care clinic!
Mark: He’s breathing fine, Sarah. His arms and legs are moving normally. Right now, I need to know why my daughter pointed at that camera.
Sarah: She’s been resentful ever since we got married! You know she hates me!
Lily: I don't hate you. I saw what you did at the top of the stairs.
Mark tapped the alert notification timestamped three minutes earlier, pulling up the live playback buffer on his phone screen.
Mark: Let’s look at the rewind...
As the video buffered, Mark watched the clear 4K feed of the upper hallway. Sarah was walking near the banister, holding Leo in one arm while checking her phone with her other hand.
Mark: Look at this... you weren't even paying attention to him.
Sarah: I was answering a text message from my sister! That isn't a crime!
Mark: Wait... pause it right there.
Mark zoomed in on the phone screen as the video showed Sarah deliberately placing Leo on the polished wood near the edge, then taking three steps back before nudge-stepping near him as he rolled.
Mark: You... you didn't drop him. You watched him roll over the edge and didn't even reach out your hand to catch him!
Sarah: That’s not what happened! The camera angle makes it look different!
A wave of pure fury washed over Mark as he looked up from his phone screen, his jaw clenching as he handed Leo gently to Lily on the stairs.
Mark: Lily, take your brother upstairs to his room right now and lock the door.
Lily: Okay, Dad.
