The mansion was filled with music, flowers, and beautifully dressed guests. Daniel stood proudly beside the woman he was about to marry.
Then a little girl suddenly ran through the crowd holding a brown envelope.
Little Girl: Daniel, you have to see this!
Everyone turned toward her.
Daniel immediately walked over.
Daniel: Why are you crying? What happened?
The girl handed him the envelope with trembling hands.
Little Girl: She told me not to show you.
Daniel looked toward his bride, Amelia.
Her smile disappeared.
Amelia: Don't listen to her. She doesn't understand what she's saying.
The girl shook her head.
Little Girl: I know what I saw.
Daniel slowly opened the envelope.
Inside was a photograph showing Amelia standing beside another man at an earlier ceremony.
The guests began whispering.
Daniel: Amelia, who is this?
Amelia stepped forward.
Amelia: It's not what you think.
Daniel: Then tell me what it is.
The little girl pointed at the photograph.
Little Girl: She hid this from you.
Amelia's face turned pale.
Amelia: She's lying!
The room suddenly became silent.
Daniel looked from the photograph to Amelia.
Daniel: Why would she lie?
Amelia could not answer.
