A Mother's Final Promise

The Maid Who Saved the Heir

Mr. Vance: Is Lily okay? Tell me she isn't hurt, Sarah.

Sarah: She's safe, sir. She's just terrified. I have her right here.

Mr. Vance: I can't believe Evelyn would do this. She swore she loved this child.

Sarah: She never loved her, Mr. Vance. She only loved your money.

Mr. Vance: I was so blind. I thought I was giving Lily a complete family after my late wife passed.

Sarah: Your late wife trusted me to protect Lily. I gave her my word before she died.

Mr. Vance: You saved my daughter's life today, Sarah. I can never repay you for this.

Sarah: You don't owe me anything. Just make sure that woman never comes near this house again.

Mr. Vance: She won't. The divorce lawyer is already processing the emergency papers, and the police have all the evidence they need.

Sarah: Does the lawyer know about the trust fund papers Evelyn made you sign last week?

Mr. Vance: What trust fund papers?

Sarah: The ones she brought into your office while you were sick. She tricked you into making her the sole trustee of Lily's inheritance.

Mr. Vance: My late wife's forty million dollar estate? Evelyn tried to steal that too?

Sarah: She didn't just try, sir. I saw the signed documents in her bedroom drawer yesterday morning.

Mr. Vance: I need to see those papers right now. Come upstairs with me, Sarah.

Sarah: Be careful, Mr. Vance. Evelyn didn't act alone in this scheme.

Mr. Vance: What do you mean she didn't act alone?

Sarah: She's been meeting with your family business partner behind your back for months.

Mr. Vance: Marcus? My own business partner is involved in this?

Sarah: I overheard them talking in the study last Tuesday night while I was cleaning.

Mr. Vance: What were they planning?

Sarah: They were planning to take total control of the company once Lily was out of the picture.

Mr. Vance: My God... they wanted to destroy my entire family.

Sarah: We need to check her room before her attorney tries to wipe the evidence clean.

Mr. Vance: Follow me. Let's find those papers before it's too late.

Sarah held Lily tightly as they walked up the grand staircase toward Evelyn's private master suite. The air in the mansion felt heavy, filled with secrets that had been hidden behind luxury and wealth for far too long. As Mr. Vance opened the bedroom door, Sarah saw the locked steel safe sitting in the corner, holding the key to everything.

Mr. Vance: The safe is locked with a digital code. I don't know the password.

Sarah: Try Lily's birthdate. Evelyn used it for everything because it was easy to remember.

Mr. Vance: Let me try... October 14th.

The safe beeped twice, and the heavy metal door clicked open, revealing stacks of legal files inside.

Mr. Vance: Look at this... forged bank accounts, transfer land titles, and medical records!

Sarah: Medical records? Why would she have medical records in there?

Mr. Vance: These aren't mine... these belong to my late wife from the hospital!

Sarah: Mr. Vance, look at the doctor's signature on the bottom line.

Mr. Vance: This can't be real... my wife didn't die of natural causes!
