The Truth Revealed

The Maid Who Saved the Heir

David: Officer, please take her away. I will meet you at the station with my corporate legal counsel.

Officer Miller: We'll need a statement from the maid as well, sir. And child protective services will need to be notified about the baby's origin.

David: I'll handle CPS. My family's legal team will ensure full cooperation. The baby belongs with Maria's sister.

The officers led the crying, screaming Evelyn out the front doors. The heavy oak doors clicked shut, leaving the foyer silent once again.

David: Maria... I don't even know what to say to you.

Maria: You don't have to say anything, Mr. Vance. I just want to take Lucas to my sister.

David: Is his real name Lucas?

Maria: His name is Mateo. My sister named him before they told her he was gone.

David: Mateo... it's a good name.

David walked over to the hallway closet, pulling out his heavy winter coat and wrapping it around Maria's shoulders. She was still shivering from the shock.

David: I spent three weeks believing this boy was my son. I loved him from the second I held him in that hospital room.

Maria: You are a good man, Mr. Vance. You didn't know what she did.

David: That doesn't make it right. My wealth, my distraction with work... it allowed her to do something terrible to your family.

Maria: You saved us today by coming home. If you hadn't checked the security camera, she would have blamed me for everything.

David: I'm driving you to the hospital right now. We're going to clear your sister's name and bring Mateo home legally.

Maria: Thank you, sir. But what about your estate? The trust fund?

David: Let the money go to charity. I don't care about the trust fund anymore. I care about doing what's right.

Maria held little Mateo tight against her chest as they walked out into the cool evening air toward David's SUV.
