Six months later, the sun shone brightly over the back lawn of the Sterling estate. The luxury cars were gone, replaced by simple physical therapy equipment and garden paths built for walking practice.
Evelyn: "Slow down, boys! Don't run too fast!"
Toddler: "Look at me, Mommy! I'm running!"
The twins raced across the grass, their small legs moving with steady, confident strength. The heavy steel braces were stored away in the attic, no longer needed.
Julian: "They are recovering faster than the doctors expected, Mrs. Sterling."
Evelyn: "Call me Evelyn, please. You are family now, Julian."
Julian: "The final paperwork for the estate trust fund cleared today. The house and the boys' medical funds are completely secure from any future lawsuits."
Evelyn: "And Richard?"
Julian: "His lawyers reached a plea agreement regarding the misappropriated funds. He won't be serving prison time, but his assets have been liquidated to pay back his creditors."
Evelyn: "I hope one day he realizes what he actually lost. It wasn't the money."
Julian: "He lost the chance to see his sons take their first steps. That is a higher price than any court could charge him."
Evelyn: "Thank you, Julian. For saving my boys... and for saving me from a life built on lies."
Julian: "Arthur always said that true strength isn't about how much wealth you hold in your hands. It's about who you lift up when they cannot stand."
The two twins laughed as they kicked a soccer ball across the grass, their bright voices echoing across the open yard, free from the weight of steel and secrets.
