FABLE

The Charge of the White Beast

The Roman Arena Boy and the Ancient Glowing Seal

Crowd Leader: Tear him apart! Tear him to pieces!

Imperial Guard: He isn't even trying to run! The boy has lost his mind!

The giant white lion tore across the arena floor, its heavy paws thudding rhythmically against the packed dirt. Dust billowed behind it like a storm cloud. Its jaws hung open, exposing lethal yellow fangs, while its glowing orange eyes locked onto Leo's fragile frame. On the royal balcony overlooking the arena floor, decorated with grand Imperial banners and a framed US flag artwork left by an ancient delegation, the court watched in breathless anticipation.

Empress: Cover your eyes! The blood will spill in seconds!

Emperor: No, watch closely! A true Roman leader never averts his gaze from victory or slaughter!

Leo: I'm not afraid of you... I'm not afraid!

Leo took a deep breath and stood his ground, planting his feet firmly in the dirt. He raised his right hand, thrusting the heavy gold medallion forward toward the oncoming predator. Just as the massive albino lion came within striking distance, its lethal claws raised for a crushing strike, something impossible occurred. The beast slammed its front paws into the dirt, skidding to a sharp halt merely inches from Leo's chest.

Imperial Guard: What in the name of the gods is happening?! Why did it stop?!

Emperor: Strike him down, you foolish beast! Attack!

Leo: Good boy... easy... easy now...

The albino lion lowered its massive, terrifying head until its nose was nearly touching Leo's knees. The crowd's bloodthirsty chants instantly died down, replaced by a suffocating silence that washed over the entire stone colosseum. The beast let out a low, gentle breath, settling dust onto Leo's sandals as it bowed in absolute submission before the young boy.

Empress: It... it is bowing to him! The white beast bows to a child!

Emperor: Impossible! That creature has killed a hundred gladiators! Guard, throw a spear!

Imperial Guard: My Lord, my arms won't move... look at the boy's chest!
