Evelyn: "You touched me! You all saw it! He assaulted me in my own dining room!"
Clara: "Stop it, Evelyn! Just stop talking! Everyone in this room sees you for who you really are now!"
Evelyn: "You stupid, ungrateful child! Your father never loved you! He left me in charge because he knew you were useless!"
Clara: "My father loved me more than anything in this world! He protected me from you even after he was gone!"
Tears burned in my eyes, but for the first time in five long years, I did not feel afraid of the woman standing before me.
Mark: "The sheriff's department was served with the freeze order two hours ago, Evelyn."
Evelyn: "What freeze order?"
Mark: "All accounts bearing the Vance estate name have been frozen by federal court order pending a full forensic audit."
Evelyn's breath hitched sharply as her eyes darted toward her handbag sitting on the far end of the dining table.
Mark: "Don't bother reaching for your keys or your passport, Evelyn. Your credit cards were suspended thirty minutes ago."
Evelyn: "You can't do this to me! I am the mistress of this house!"
Clara: "Not anymore. You have one hour to pack your personal clothes and leave my father's home."
Evelyn: "You're kicking me out?! After everything I did for you after your father died?!"
Clara: "You didn't do anything for me, Evelyn. You spent five years making me feel worthless so I would never ask questions about my own life."
Two heavy knocks echoed from the grand front entrance of the mansion, sounding loud and final through the quiet room.
Mark: "That will be Deputy Sheriff Miller and the court representative."
Evelyn stepped back, her hands trembling uncontrollably as she looked around the room at the cold, silent faces of her relatives.
Evelyn: "Sarah... please tell them! Tell them how much I did for Arthur!"
Aunt Sarah: "I think you should listen to Clara, Evelyn. You've done enough damage."
