The woman walked with slow, deliberate steps, her leather heels clicking sharply against the wooden floorboards of the church.
Woman: He’s not lying about the twin part, Laura. But he is lying about everything else.
David: Victoria? What are you doing here? How did you find us?
Victoria: I’ve been tracking you for six months, David. Or should I call you Julian?
Laura: Victoria? Who are you? What is she talking about, David?
Victoria: I am Julian’s widow. And the man standing next to you in that groom’s suit isn't David Hayes at all.
A collective gasp echoed across the congregation as Laura took a step backward, away from the man she was about to marry.
Laura: What do you mean he’s not David? Of course he’s David!
Victoria: The real David Hayes died in that car crash in Los Angeles two years ago. Julian took his identity, his bank accounts, and his trust fund!
David: Shut your mouth! Shut up right now, Victoria! You’re insane!
Victoria: Am I insane? The real David had a five-million-dollar inheritance waiting for him in his family trust estate!
Laura: Inheritance? David told me his parents passed away leaving him a small family business!
Victoria: A small business? His biological family owned a commercial real estate empire in Chicago!
David: She’s fabricating everything! Laura, don't listen to a single word she says!
Victoria: I brought the DNA comparison records and the offshore bank account transfers, Julian. The police are waiting outside in the parking lot.
Laura stared at the man in the tuxedo, her eyes wide with horror as the truth finally began to piece together in her mind.
