The organ music was playing softly through the sunlit chapel as Laura walked down the aisle, her hand resting gently on her father's arm while her groom, David, stood at the altar in his sleek black tuxedo.
Laura: You look so handsome, David.
David: You take my breath away, sweetheart. I’ve waited for this moment my entire life.
The pastor smiled, adjusting his reading glasses as he opened the leather-bound book to begin the holy ceremony.
Pastor: Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of God and these witnesses to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony.
Suddenly, the double doors at the back of the chapel slammed open with a loud thud, startling the guests in every pew.
Young Boy: Please stop the wedding! You need to see this right now!
A frantic young boy, no older than eight years old, came running down the center aisle, breathing heavily while clutching a thick manila envelope tightly in his small hands.
David: Hey, kid! What do you think you’re doing? Get out of here!
Young Boy: No! She told me I had to give this to you before you said your vows!
The boy thrust the brown envelope into David's hands, his voice trembling as the entire congregation gasped in utter shock.
Laura: David, what is going on? Who is this boy?
David: I... I have no idea, Laura. Probably just a neighborhood prank.
Young Boy: It’s not a prank! Open it! Open it right now!
David’s hands shook as he unclasped the metal fastener, pulling out a glossy photograph that made all the color instantly drain from his face, leaving him staring at the paper in absolute horror.
