The Truth Exposed

The Stepmother Hit My Crying Daughter

Brenda froze instantly, her hands trembling in the air as the two officers moved in quickly, grabbing her arms and forcing them behind her back.

Brenda: Officer! You don't understand! He attacked me! He threw me against the fence outside!

Police Officer: Ma'am, stop moving. We received a report of child endangerment and domestic disturbance.

David: Look at my daughter's arm, Officer. Look at her wrist.

The female officer stepped forward, gently taking Lily's small arm into her gloved hand to examine the deep purple bruises and red slap marks.

Female Officer: Jesus... who did this to this little girl?

Lily: Step-mommy did it... she hit me because I cried for Daddy.

Brenda: She's lying! She fell on the playground! David forced her to say that!

David: I have high-definition security cameras on the front porch and inside the entryway, Brenda. The camera caught the whole thing on the street—including the moment you hit her.

Brenda's face drained of all color as she stared at the small black dome camera mounted in the upper corner of the kitchen wall.

Brenda: You... you turned those cameras on?

David: I synced them to my phone last month when I noticed Lily was acting terrified around you.

Police Officer: Ma'am, you are under arrest for felony child abuse, domestic assault, and breaking and entering.

Brenda: David, please! Don't do this! We can talk about this! I love you!

David: You never loved me, Brenda. You loved the idea of taking over Sarah's life and draining her estate.

Brenda: I'll give the papers back! I'll sign whatever you want!

David: You'll sign them in court with a court-appointed public defender.

The officers escorted Brenda out through the front door, her heels dragging against the driveway as she sobbed wildly, calling out desperate excuses that fell on deaf ears.

An ambulance pulled up to the curb shortly after, and paramedics stepped inside to check on Lily's wrist and my injured shoulder.

Paramedic: The wrist has soft-tissue bruising, sir. No broken bones, thank God, but she needs ice and rest.

David: Thank you, doc. Thank you so much.

Arthur pulled his luxury sedan into the driveway, rushing up the steps with a stack of legal folders in his hands.

Arthur: David! Are you two alright?

David: We're alive, Arthur. But we need to make sure she never comes near my daughter again.

Arthur: The judge just signed the emergency protective order. Her bank accounts are frozen, and the police have the forged power of attorney documents. She is finished.
