They dragged Victoria out of the nursery, her hysterical screams echoing down the long, empty corridors of the mansion until the front doors slammed shut. The house suddenly fell into a peaceful, quiet calm that it hadn't known in months.
Ethan walked slowly over to Elena, his eyes full of deep regret and overwhelming gratitude. He looked down at his daughter, who was now fast asleep in Elena’s arms, exhausted from the terror of the night.
Ethan: I don't even know how to begin to thank you, Elena. You saved my daughter’s life tonight.
Elena: You don't have to thank me, Mr. Vance. I love Lily like she’s my own family. I would never let anyone bring harm to her.
Ethan: I was so blind. I brought a viper into our home because I was lonely and stupid. I almost lost everything that matters to me.
Elena: You were grieving, sir. Evil people like Victoria know how to take advantage of good men when they are vulnerable.
Ethan: That’s no excuse. I should have protected her. From this day on, things are going to change around here.
Ethan took a deep breath, looking around the quiet, safe nursery. He reached out and gently stroked his daughter’s soft cheek, tears brimming in his eyes.
Ethan: Tomorrow, my lawyers are filing for an immediate emergency divorce and full annulment. Victoria won't get a single dime from my estate or Sarah's trust fund. In fact, she’ll be spending the next several years behind bars for attempted child endangerment and assault.
Elena: That is where she belongs, sir.
Ethan: Elena... I want to offer you a permanent position as Lily’s primary guardian and head of household manager. Full salary, private living quarters, and complete legal authority over the domestic staff. I need someone I can truly trust with my daughter's life.
Elena smiled softly, holding the sleeping baby girl close to her heart.
Elena: I would be honored, Mr. Vance. I promise you, as long as I am here, no one will ever hurt our little girl again.
Ethan looked at his daughter, then back at the loyal maid who had saved her life. For the first time since his wife had passed away, he felt a sense of true peace descend upon the house. The dark cloud had lifted, justice had been served, and little Lily was finally safe.
