Sarah: Mark, you're overthinking this. He probably just heard it on one of his cartoon shows on the iPad.
Mark: Cartoons don't teach a toddler to demand his mother sits down and gets fed before his father can touch a slice of pizza, Sarah.
Liam: Grandma give cookie yesterday!
Mark: Grandma was here yesterday?
Sarah: Liam, stop babbling and eat your crust.
Mark: Hold on, Sarah. Let him speak. Liam, which Grandma was here yesterday?
Liam: Other Grandma! Rich Grandma!
Mark's body went stiff as a board. He set his pizza slice down completely, his eyes shifting from his son directly to Sarah's pale face.
Mark: Rich Grandma? Sarah... is he talking about my mother?
Sarah: Mark, please... let's not do this during dinner.
Mark: Answer me, Sarah! Was my mother in this house yesterday?
Sarah: She stopped by for twenty minutes while you were at the firm!
Mark: My mother? The woman who cut me off from the family estate three years ago because I refused to join her law corporate firm?
Sarah: She just wanted to see her grandson, Mark!
Mark: She called me a failure on our wedding day, Sarah! She signed a legal disowned document in front of her high-society friends!
Sarah: I know what she did! But she called me crying two days ago, okay?
Mark: Crying? Eleanor Crawford doesn't cry, Sarah. She calculates.
Liam: No angry, Daddy!
Mark: I'm not angry at you, buddy. I'm just... trying to understand.
Sarah: She came over because she wanted to make amends. She saw how hard you've been working to pay off our mortgage without her help.
Mark: I don't want her help! I paid off fifty thousand dollars of debt with my own sweat and blood!
Sarah: She brought a legal folder, Mark.
Mark: A legal folder? What kind of legal folder?
Sarah: A trust fund agreement for Liam. And... something else.
Mark: What something else? Tell me, Sarah!
Sarah: She wants to give you back your share of the family inheritance. Three million dollars, Mark.
Mark: There is always a string attached with Eleanor. Always. What does she want in exchange?
Sarah: She wants us to move back to the main estate in Austin. She wants you to take over the family trust fund management.
Mark: And what did you tell her?
Sarah: I told her I had to talk to you first! But she sat right in that living room, gave Liam a chocolate cookie, and told him that a real man always honors his mother first.
Mark: She was conditioning my son!
Liam: Grandma nice! Grandma give toy car!
Mark: Where is the paper she gave you, Sarah?
Sarah: It's in my purse in the hallway closet.
Mark: Get it. Right now.
