Evelyn: You tricked me!
Arthur: You ruined yourself the moment you touched my daughter.
Sirens wailed in the distance, their high-pitched echoes cutting through the quiet suburban estate roads outside.
Clara: Daddy... my leg hurts real bad...
Arthur: I know, baby. The paramedics are coming right now. Stay still, okay? Look at Daddy.
Evelyn: Arthur, if the police arrest me, the media will destroy the company's stock price! The board will call an emergency meeting!
Arthur: Let them call it. The board knows my priority has always been my family, not a corporate image.
Evelyn: I can pack my bags and leave right now! I'll waive all rights to the alimony, the mansion, everything! Just don't press charges!
Arthur: You think this is about alimony?
Evelyn: I'll sign the divorce papers today! Just let me go out the back door before those sirens get here!
Arthur: You're not going anywhere, Evelyn.
The red and blue emergency lights flashed through the tall glass panels of the front doors, casting sharp colors across the hardwood floor.
Evelyn: Please... Arthur! I'm begging you!
Arthur: Mrs. Gable, open the doors for the officers and the medical team.
Mrs. Gable: Right away, Mr. Sterling.
Heavy footsteps rushed up the stone porch steps outside as the front doors opened wide.
Officer Miller: Sir! We received a report of an injured child and an assault!
Arthur: In here, officer. My daughter needs immediate medical attention. And that woman sitting on the stairs needs to be taken into custody right now.
