Vanessa tried to reach out toward Richard with fake helpless tears.
Vanessa: Richard, my love, listen to me please!
Vanessa: A financial manager convinced me it was a good investment for our future!
Vanessa: I would never hurt our family!
Richard: Do not call her your daughter, and do not call me your love!
Richard turned around in absolute rage and raised his finger toward the door.
Richard: GET OUT OF MY HOUSE RIGHT NOW! GET OUT!
Vanessa: You can't just throw me out without talking to my lawyer!
Richard: I am calling the police and my legal team right this second!
Richard: If you are not off my property in five minutes, you leave in handcuffs!
Vanessa realized there was no escaping the trap she had made for herself.
She glared at Sarah with pure hatred burning in her dark eyes.
Sarah did not flinch or look away from the bitter woman.
She held baby Lily close and comforted the small child gently.
Vanessa turned around, grabbed her expensive leather purse, and ran out the front door.
The heavy oak entrance door slammed shut, echoing loudly through the tall foyer.
Richard collapsed into a nearby leather chair and put his face in his hands.
He wept soft tears of relief and deep betrayal after the awful ordeal.
Sarah walked over calmly and set a glass of cold water on the side table.
Sarah: She is safe now, Mr. Carter.
Richard: I don't know how I can ever repay you, Sarah.
Richard: You saved my daughter's life today.
Sarah: I was only doing my duty to keep this sweet child safe.
Richard looked up with immense gratitude filling his tearful eyes.
He knew he had been blind, but Sarah's vigilance had spared his family.
