You Packed the Wrong Person Out of My House

Selena: Look at you, little girl. Once the wedding photos are done, your father and I are driving you straight to the orphanage.

Lily: No! Daddy wouldn’t do that! Daddy loves me!

Selena: Your daddy loves me now, sweetheart. And in my new life, there is zero room for another woman's baggage.

Lily’s lower lip trembled as tears spilled over her small, pale cheeks. She backed away toward the grand archway of the estate hallway.

Mark: Lily? What’s going on here? Why are you crying?

Lily: Daddy! When do I have to leave?! She said I'm going away!

Mark: What are you talking about, baby? Nobody is sending you anywhere.

Selena: She's just being dramatic, Mark. You know how kids are when they feel left out of a big wedding day.

Eleanor: She isn't being dramatic, Mark. Look at what Selena just did to your daughter's room!

Eleanor stood near the doorway, clutching a small cardboard box filled with Lily's stuffed animals. Before anyone could speak, Selena casually grabbed a massive plastic bin full of clothes and tossed it across the floor.

Selena: Oops. Guess it slipped. Mark, tell your mother to stop meddling in our household business.

Mark: Your household business? Before we even walk down the aisle?

Selena: We’re getting married in twenty minutes, Mark. It’s time you start prioritizing your bride over a child who reminds you of your dead wife.

Mark stepped forward, his eyes locking onto Selena with an intensity that made the room freeze. Without a word, his hand flew across the air, landing a sharp, echoing slap across her cheek.

Selena: Ah! Mark! Did you just hit me?!

Selena stumbled backward, crashing violently into a decorative glass display stand. Glass shattered everywhere, scattering framed photos and glowing candles across the polished marble floor.

Mark: I've put up with your subtle cruelties for six months, Selena. But today, you showed me exactly who you are.

Mark reached down, gripped his custom platinum wedding band, and ripped it off his finger. Then he grabbed Selena’s wrist, pulling the massive diamond ring right off her hand, tossing both rings into the glass debris.

Selena: You can't do this! The guests are already in the garden! The prenuptial agreement is signed! The wedding estate is booked under our names!

Mark: You packed my daughter's clothes because you thought she was leaving today. But you packed the wrong person.

Selena: Mark, please! I was just stressed! It was just a joke!

Mark: Get out of my house right now before I have security throw you into the street.

Selena stood frozen among the broken glass, her expensive dress ruined, while Mark knelt down to pull his weeping daughter into his arms, but the truth behind Selena's cruel plot ran far deeper than a simple wedding day tantrum.
