Attorney Vance: Mr. Vance, as the executor of Arthur’s estate, if there is any allegation of foul play or improper medical certification, we cannot legally proceed with the burial.
Evelyn: Are you out of your mind? The life insurance and probate court deadlines require the burial certificate today! The estate trust will be frozen!
David: Is that all you care about right now? The estate trust?
Evelyn: I care about dignity! I care about honor! We are making a scene in front of the entire city's elite society!
David: Raise the straps. Winch operator, bring the casket back up to ground level now.
Evelyn: No! Don't touch that lever!
David: I said raise it!
The operator pressed the green button on his control box. The heavy steel cables whirred loudly as the white casket rose back up, settling solidly on the silver metal frame above the grass.
Leo: Thank you, Uncle David! Please, check inside!
Evelyn: David, if you open that lid, you are desecrating your father’s body. You will ruin our marriage. I will leave you today!
David: If my wife has nothing to hide, opening a latch won't end our marriage. But if my nephew is right, you won't have a marriage to worry about—you'll have a prison sentence.
Evelyn: You are taking the word of a troubled orphan over the woman who stood by you during his illness!
David: Leo’s mother was my sister, and he never lies about what he sees. Officer, step over here with me.
Security Officer: Sir, if you unlatch that casket without a court order, you assume full personal and legal liability.
David: I own the plot and I am his legal next of kin. Key the latch.
David stepped forward, his hands shaking violently as he reached down toward the polished chrome locks of the white casket. Evelyn stepped back toward her chauffeur, her eyes darting toward the road exit.
