Brenda's face turned beet red. The sweet, polished persona was completely gone, replaced by bitter malice. She sneered at Mark, stepping forward with her heels clicking loudly against the floor.
Brenda: You think you're so smart, don't you? You and your pathetic, needy daughters!
Sarah: We never did anything to you, Brenda! We tried to welcome you into this family!
Brenda: Welcome me? You hogged Mark's time! Every weekend it was 'Sarah needs help with the baby' or 'Chloe needs help with her college tuition'! What about me?!
Mark: They are my children! They will always come first!
Brenda: I was supposed to be the priority! We were setting up the family trust so I would have power of attorney over your real estate assets! I wasn't going to let these two leech off your wealth forever!
Chloe: There it is. The money. It was always about the inheritance.
Brenda: So what if it was?! Mark has millions in properties and investments! Why should it all go to two ungrateful girls who don't even respect him?!
Mark: I respected you, Brenda. I gave you a credit card, a luxury car, a home, and my heart. And you almost killed my granddaughter for a paycheck.
Brenda: She wasn't going to die! Stop being dramatic!
Sarah: She's a baby, Brenda! A fall down those stairs could have broken her neck!
Mark: Chloe, call my divorce lawyer and estate attorney right now. Have him revoke Brenda's authorization on all corporate accounts and cancel her secondary cards immediately.
Chloe: Already on it, Dad. Mr. Vance is on line two.
Brenda snatched her designer purse off the sofa, her hands trembling with rage. She pulled out a sleek black credit card and threw it onto the coffee table.
Brenda: Keep your stupid money! You'll hear from my lawyer about breach of promise!
Mark: Good luck finding an attorney willing to take your case when I hand the police this security video. Attempted child endangerment carries a felony charge in Texas.
Brenda froze. Her eyes darted to the TV screen, where the video played on a continuous loop, showing her kicking the brake and shoving the stroller over and over again.
Brenda: You wouldn't press charges... it would create a public scandal for your business!
Mark: Try me.
