Officer Davis plugged the USB drive into the console computer and opened the unedited cloud video file. The entire room went dead silent as the crisp, uncorrupted video played on the large monitor.
On the clear recording, Victoria stepped up behind little Lily. With a cold, calculated motion, Victoria extended her arm and forcefully pushed the child straight into the deep end of the pool. She then stepped back, crossed her arms, and watched the struggling baby without making any movement to help.
Richard: Oh my God... Victoria... you... you pushed her!
Sarah: You monster! Look at what you did to my baby girl!
Victoria: Richard, wait! I can explain! It isn't what it looks like!
Richard: Shut up! Don't you dare say another word! You tried to murder my daughter in cold blood!
Officer Davis: Victoria Miller, you are under arrest for attempted murder, child endangerment, and destruction of evidence. Turn around and put your hands behind your back.
Victoria: Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am? I am the owner of this estate! Richard signed everything over to me!
Mark: Actually, Mrs. Miller, those power of attorney documents you forced Richard to sign while he was under heavy medication in the hospital are completely invalid. We filed an emergency injunction with the Dallas County Court this morning.
Victoria: What? That is impossible!
Mark: We discovered that you forged his doctor's signature on the medical capacity evaluation. The court has already frozen all assets associated with the estate, including your joint bank accounts.
Officer Davis pulled Victoria's arms behind her back, snapping the cold steel handcuffs around her wrists. Victoria began to panic, her arrogant composure crumbling instantly into hysterical screams.
Victoria: Richard! Tell them to stop! You love me! You can't let them take me away like this!
Richard: I never want to see your face again, Victoria. My lawyers will serve you with divorce papers in your jail cell tonight.
Victoria: You will regret this, Richard! You need me! You can't run this company without me!
Officer Davis: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
The police officers escorted a sobbing, kicking Victoria out of the grand mansion, past the gleaming swimming pool, and into the back of the police cruiser. The bright red and blue lights reflected off the water where flower petals still floated peacefully.
