The Broken Glass at the Charity Gala The crystal chandeliers of the grand estate

The massive front doors were kicked open by uniformed police officers, guns drawn as they flooded the grand foyer.

Police Officer: EVERYONE STAY WHERE YOU ARE! HANDS IN THE AIR!

Richard: Officer! Arrest that man and his guards! They attempted to murder my son and me for corporate inheritance rights!

Victor: This is a misunderstanding! I'm his brother! We were just having a family dispute!

Police Officer: Save it for the judge, sir. Down on the ground! NOW!

The officers slammed Victor and his two bodyguards down against the glass-strewn marble floor, slapping steel handcuffs onto their wrists. The guests cheered as the corrupt billionaire was dragged out of his own family's mansion in shame.

Richard: Officer, make sure the digital footage from the foyer server is secured immediately. It contains absolute proof of the attempted assassination.

Police Officer: We have the area secured, Mr. Vance. Paramedics are right behind us.

Richard turned around to look for Clara. She was sitting quietly on a step near the staircase, wrapping a white linen napkin around her bleeding palm, trying her best to stay out of the way of the police and emergency crew.

Richard: Clara...

Clara: Don't worry about me, Mr. Vance. I'll clean up this glass before I leave. I don't want to lose my catering job over this.

Richard walked over to her and gently took her hands in his, ignoring the blood staining his expensive white cuffs.

Richard: Clean up? Clara, you saved my son's life today. You took the full impact of falling crystal to shield a child you didn't even know.

Clara: I just did what anyone would do...

Richard: No, you did what a hero would do. And I treated you like trash the moment I saw you.
