Carter: She has his eyes, too. She’s going to grow up knowing how brave her mother was.
Chloe: I was terrified every single day I worked in this house under Victoria’s orders. Watching her treat people like garbage, wondering if she’d figure out who I really was...
Carter: You took a massive risk pretending to be a maid just to gather that evidence yourself.
Chloe: If I had hired private investigators from the outside, Victoria’s lawyers would have bought them off just like they did the local police. I had to see the books with my own eyes.
Carter: And you saved the entire family inheritance in the process.
Chloe: Now we can finally use this wealth for something good. No more luxury galas for corrupt politicians or fake socialites.
Carter: What do you have in mind?
Chloe: We’re setting up a foundation in Julian’s honor to support domestic abuse victims and workers who have been exploited by wealthy employers.
Carter: Julian would be incredibly proud of you, Chloe.
Chloe looked out the floor-to-ceiling windows toward the sprawling Dallas skyline as the sun began to set, casting a warm golden light across the marble halls. For the first time in years, she felt truly safe in her own home.
