Victoria stood frozen near the fireplace, her voice shrill and trembling as she pointed a manicured finger at Evelyn.
Victoria: Have you lost your mind, Marcus? She is a hired maid! She cleans the bathrooms! She washes my clothes! Why are you touching her like that?
Marcus: Keep your voice down before I have security escort you out of my house this second.
Evelyn: Mr. Vance, please... she doesn't know. Maybe we shouldn't do this here...
Marcus: No, Evelyn. I am done hiding this. I am done letting her walk around this house like she owns the Vance empire while treating you like trash.
Victoria: The Vance empire belongs to our family! To me and your late father's estate! You think you can insult me in front of the help?
Marcus: Help? Is that what you called my sister's daughter?
Victoria stopped breathing. The color completely drained from her face as she gripped the back of an armchair for balance.
Victoria: What... what did you just say?
Marcus: You heard me. Evelyn isn't some random girl from an agency. She is my niece. My late sister Clara’s real child.
Victoria: That’s impossible! Clara died six years ago in Europe! She didn't have any children!
Evelyn: My mother had me before she left for Paris, Mrs. Vance. But you made sure my grandfather never found out, didn't you?
Victoria: You lying little leech! Marcus, she’s setting a trap for your inheritance! She wants the trust fund!
Marcus: Shut up, Victoria! I ran the DNA test three weeks ago. Evelyn is a direct Vance bloodline heir. And that baby she’s holding? That’s Clara’s granddaughter.
Victoria: I don't care who she is! She signed an employment contract! She came into this house under false pretenses!
Marcus: She came into this house because you locked all the family archives away after my father died! She had to become a maid just to get through the front door of her own family home!
Evelyn: I didn't want the money, Victoria. I only wanted my mother’s locket. The one you stole from her room the night she passed away.
Victoria: I didn't steal anything! Everything in this house belongs to the estate, and as senior trustee, I control the estate!
Marcus: Not anymore. I spoke with the probate court lawyers this morning. Your trustee power was revoked the moment we proved Clara had living heirs.
Victoria: You wouldn't dare... You need my signature for the merger next week!
Marcus: I don't need a single thing from you. In fact, you have exactly one hour to pack your bags before my legal team hands you a eviction notice and a lawsuit for corporate fraud.
Victoria: Lawsuit?! For what?!
Marcus: For stealing three million dollars out of Clara’s trust fund over the last five years. Did you really think I wouldn't notice the offshore accounts?
