The Hidden Nursery Secret

The Maid Who Saved the Heir

Sarah: Elena! Oh my goodness, child, what happened to your knees?

Elena: Mrs. Victoria set me up, Sarah. She tried to frame me for dropping baby Lily.

Sarah: She did what?! Sit down right now and drink some water.

Elena collapsed onto the sofa inside her older sister’s modest apartment downtown. Her hands were still shaking so violently that she could barely hold the glass of water Sarah handed her.

Sarah: Tell me everything from the beginning. Don't leave out a single detail.

Elena: I was cleaning the foyer near the main entrance. Mark had left for his morning meeting twenty minutes earlier, or so we thought. Suddenly I heard a noise near the balcony.

Sarah: Was Victoria upstairs?

Elena: Yes. I saw her skirt near the balcony pillar right before the baby slipped through the railing gap. Sarah, an eight-month-old child cannot climb over a high wooden barrier. Someone had to lift her up!

Sarah: Why would a mother ever do something so sick to her own child?

Elena: Victoria isn't Lily's biological mother, remember? Mark’s first wife passed away during childbirth two years ago. Victoria married him six months ago, right after Mark set up a massive family trust fund for the baby.

Sarah: So if something happened to the baby...

Elena: The trust fund money defaults back to the estate, which Victoria controls if Mark is out of the picture, or if she manages to convince Mark to rewrite his will!

Sarah: That is pure evil. But how can you prove any of this? It’s your word against a billionaire's wife.

Elena: The baby monitor in the nursery! Mark had a high-tech smart security system installed last month when he took out that giant life insurance policy for the family.

Sarah: Does Victoria know about those camera feeds?

Elena: She thinks the cameras only record the crib interior. But Mark asked the installation technician to set up continuous wide-angle cloud recording for the entire upper hallway floor!

Sarah: Can you access those cloud files from your phone?

Elena: No, only Mark has the master admin password on his personal phone and laptop. But the system technician, Marcus... he’s a close friend of my late father.

Sarah: Do you think Marcus would help us view the local backup server?

Elena: I have to try. If I don't prove my innocence by tomorrow, Mark’s high-priced lawyers are going to file formal felony endangerment charges against me.

Sarah: Call him right now, Elena. Don't wait another minute.

Elena pulled out her cell phone with trembling fingers and dialed the security company's direct helpline, praying that truth would find a way through the thick wall of wealth and lies.
