Marcus: Elena, taking local server logs without a court order could cost me my technician license.
Elena: Marcus, please! They are going to put me in prison for a crime I didn't commit! You know me, you knew my dad. Would I ever hurt a child?
Marcus: Of course you wouldn't, kiddo. Your dad was the most honest man I ever worked with.
Elena: Then just look at the raw server file from nine fifteen this morning. Just look at it once.
Marcus sighed deeply, his fingers clacking quickly across his mechanical keyboard inside the dim security control center downtown. The large monitor in front of them flickered as he bypassed the primary user interface and pulled up the raw cloud upload logs for the Dallas mansion estate.
Marcus: Okay... filtering camera four, upper east wing corridor. Let's scrub back to 9:10 AM.
Elena: There! Look at the top corner near the nursery doorway!
Marcus: What in the world...
On the high-definition footage, Victoria could be clearly seen carrying the sleeping infant out of the nursery. She walked deliberately toward the balcony railing, looking around nervously to ensure no staff members were on the upper level.
Elena: Look at her hands! She’s positioning the blanket right over the gap!
Marcus: She intentionally set the baby right on the outer ledge of the banister! She didn't drop her by accident—she placed her where she would roll off!
Elena: Zoom in on her face, Marcus!
Marcus: She saw you cleaning downstairs! Look at her eyes—she saw you in the foyer reflection, dropped the blanket bundle, and stepped back behind the pillar to pretend she was running out from her room!
Elena: Oh my God... she wanted the baby to fall, and when she saw me sliding to catch her, she decided to frame me instead!
Marcus: This is attempted murder, Elena. Plain and simple. This isn't just a domestic dispute anymore.
Elena: Can you save this video file to a portable flash drive for me right now?
Marcus: I'm doing better than that. I'm making three encrypted copies and sending one directly to the lead detective on the local county precinct board.
Elena: We need to show Mark before she does anything else to that poor baby.
Marcus: Mark is currently at his corporate legal office downtown signing temporary emergency custody papers. I know his personal security detail officer—we can intercept him before he goes back home.
Elena: Let's go. Every minute that little girl spends alone with Victoria is a minute her life is in danger.
