Elena: Oh God... what have I done? I ruined Maya’s life... I lost all our savings... all because I was too proud and scared to tell you the truth seven years ago!
Marcus: We are fixing this tonight. Pack a bag for Maya and Lily. We are leaving this house right now.
Elena: Where are we going? Are you taking them away from me?
Marcus: I am taking my daughters to a hotel where they can sleep in a real room with windows. And tomorrow morning, I am filing a formal criminal lawsuit against Julian, and a petition for full legal custody of Maya.
Elena: Marcus, please! Don't leave me out in the cold! I love her! I did everything to keep her safe!
Marcus: You kept her in a box, Elena. You sacrificed our daughter’s childhood to protect a lie. You had seven years to tell me the truth, and you only stopped because Lily gave her a plate of food tonight.
