A New Beginning On Oak Street

The SUV Hit Them Both Before They Could Ever Marry

Six months later, the bright morning sun warmed Oak Street. The white house stood tall behind its clean wooden fence. Friends and family gathered together on the spacious green lawn.

White folding chairs lined the path across the grass. Soft violin music played softly through small outdoor speakers. Thomas stood near the wooden altar wearing a neat tuxedo.

Thomas: Today is the happiest day of my entire life.

Sarah: Look how far our children have come, Thomas.

Thomas: They survived the absolute worst together and won.

Liam stood at the front, looking handsome and completely healed. He wore a sharp navy suit with a white rose. His heart pounded with excitement as the music changed tempo.

Liam: I have been waiting for this exact moment.

Groomsman: She looks absolute breathtaking, buddy. Turn around.

Liam turned his head toward the back of the lawn. Maya stepped out onto the green grass in a gown. She walked slowly, using a polished wooden cane for support.

Her textured blonde hair caught the warm yellow sunlight beautifully. A brilliant smile lit up her face as she walked forward. Her father held her arm gently, guiding every step.

Thomas: Take your time, my sweet baby girl.

Maya: I am not walking slow today, Dad!

Maya let go of her father's arm near altar. She took three unassisted steps directly into Liam's open arms. The crowd gathered on the lawn clapped and cheered aloud.

Liam: You walked all by yourself to me!

Maya: I promised I would walk to you today.

Liam: You look more beautiful than any dream, Maya.

The minister stepped forward to address the happy crowd. He smiled warmly at the resilient young couple holding hands. The diamond ring sparkled brightly on Maya's left hand.

Minister: We are gathered here to celebrate pure love.

Maya: I take you, Liam, as my husband.

Liam: I take you, Maya, as my wife.

Minister: You may now kiss your beautiful bride forever!

Liam pulled Maya close and kissed her with deep passion. Cheering erupted across the sunny suburban neighborhood street nearby. The driver who caused the crash was serving his time.

Justice had been served, and true love had conquered tragedy. Liam held Maya's hand tight as they walked down aisle. They skipped a tiny step together, laughing under the sun.

Maya: We are finally starting our brand new life!

Liam: Hand in hand, forever and always, my love.

The dark shadows of Oak Street were gone forever now. A bright future lay open wide before the newlyweds ahead.
