The Little Girl Screams Stop

The Wealthy Stepmother Claimed The Maid Dropped Her Newborn Baby From The Balcony

David: Chloe, stay back! Go back into your playroom this instant!

Chloe: No, Dad! You can’t arrest Elena! Look at the screen!

The little girl stood between her father and the trembling maid, her chest heaving as she pointed a small finger at the mounted wall display.

Victoria: Chloe, sweetie, go to your room. You shouldn't see this terrible woman taken away in handcuffs.

Chloe: Don't talk to me! Dad, please, push play on the panel! Just push play!

David paused, holding the crying baby against his shoulder while his thumb hovered over his phone screen.

David: What are you talking about, Chloe? What screen?

Chloe: The security panel! The whole house cameras! I was watching the nursery feed on my tablet!

Victoria's face suddenly went rigid, her warm motherly act flickering for a split second.

Victoria: David, the child is traumatized. She has no idea what she’s saying. Give the baby to me and handle the police.

Elena: Please, Mr. Vance... just look at what Chloe is trying to show you.

Elena wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, her uniform soaked where her knees had skidded across the wax.

David: If this is a trick to stall until you can run—

Chloe: It’s not a trick, Daddy! Look! Look at the balcony camera!

David stepped toward the smart display embedded in the wainscoted wall beside the foyer entrance.

His finger tapped the glowing screen, waking up the multi-angle camera feeds of the multimillion-dollar mansion.

Victoria: David, darling, those internal security cameras were supposed to be turned off for our private family estate weekend. The technician hadn’t finished configuring them.

Chloe: Uncle Mark set them up yesterday! He gave me the master access code so I could watch the puppy in the backyard!

David looked down at his daughter, noticing how genuinely terrified she looked—not of Elena, but of Victoria.

David: Chloe, what camera did you pull up?

Chloe: Foyer angle two! The one above the chandelier that looks directly down the upper corridor!

David tapped the playback timeline, scrubbing back the video by exactly four minutes.

A crystal-clear high-definition recording loaded onto the glass panel, showing the wide expanse of the second-floor mezzanine.

Victoria: David, this is ridiculous. We have an injured newborn—

David: Quiet, Victoria!

David’s voice cracked across the silent entryway like thunder, halting his wife in her tracks.

On the screen, a figure in a deep maroon dress walked slowly toward the banister holding a white swaddled bundle.

There was nobody else on the second floor.

Elena was clearly visible on the ground level in the corner of the frame, kneeling with a dust rag near the base of the grand clock.

David: Wait... that’s you on the balcony.

Victoria: I was trying to save him from her! The angle must be confusing—

Chloe: Watch her hands, Daddy! Just watch what she does!

On the screen, the maroon-dressed woman checked both directions down the empty hallway.

Then, with calculated, cold precision, she lifted the baby over the wooden banister and opened her fingers.

Below her, Elena looked up at the sudden rustle, screamed, and threw herself horizontally across the hardwood.

Elena’s body acted as a human cushion, catching the falling swaddle inches above the floor.

A dead, suffocating silence dropped over the entire foyer.

David stood frozen, his eyes widening in pure horror as his breath caught in his throat.
