Mark: "Liam, hand me that paper right now. Who gave this to you?"
Liam: "The tall man with the shiny black car. He said it's a secret paper for the doctor."
Claire: "Mark, what is he talking about? You're scaring me. What paper?"
Mark: "It's a court summons, Claire. It's from a family law firm in downtown Chicago."
Claire: "A court summons? For what? We haven't done anything wrong!"
Mark: "It's addressed to you, Claire. It says here that your father's estate and trust fund were restructured before he passed away."
Claire: "My father died five years ago! He left the family business and the farm to me and my stepmother equally!"
Mark: "According to this document... your stepmother filed an emergency petition last week claiming you are unfit to inherit the remaining trust balance if you had more than four children."
Liam: "ONE, TWO! ONE, TWO!"
Mark: "Liam, stop chanting, buddy! Please, daddy needs to think."
Claire: "Wait... four children? We had the quadruplet boys four years ago. That made four kids total."
Mark: "Exactly. And now, with these newborn twins... you have six children."
Claire: "Why would my father put a limit on how many children I could have in his will? That makes zero sense!"
Mark: "Because he didn't, Claire. Look at the signature at the bottom of the last page. This isn't your father's handwriting."
Claire: "Let me see that! Oh my god... that's my stepmother's attorney's signature. They forged a trust amendment!"
Liam: "The man said if we count 'one, two' for the new babies, the judge will take the big house away!"
Claire: "The kids heard him... that's why they were trying to stop the babies from being counted!"
Mark: "That evil woman actually approached our four-year-old boys at the park while my mother was watching them?"
Claire: "She knew I was in labor! She tried to intimidate four-year-olds into keeping a secret so we wouldn't contest the court deadline!"
Mark: "We need to call our divorce lawyer and estate attorney right now. If she thinks she can steal your inheritance using our children, she's dead wrong."
Claire: "Hand me my phone, Mark. I'm calling the police first. She approached my toddlers!"
Mark: "Wait, Claire. Read the small print on page three. It says the hearing is scheduled for tomorrow morning at nine."
Claire: "Tomorrow morning? I just gave birth three hours ago!"
Mark: "That was her plan. She expected you to be stuck in this hospital bed while her lawyers finalized the foreclosure on the estate."
Claire: "Get my clothes out of the closet. I'm not missing that hearing."
Mark: "Claire, no, you're weak, you need to rest!"
Claire: "I don't care if I have to walk into that courtroom in a wheelchair. Nobody messes with my family."
Liam: "Mommy, are the baby twins allowed to stay now?"
Claire: "Yes, baby. The twins are staying forever, and so is our home."
