Stepmother (Evelyn): "Oh, dear. Am I interrupting a peaceful family moment?"
Mark: "Evelyn! How dare you show your face in this hospital room?"
Evelyn: "Calm down, Mark. I simply came to congratulate my stepdaughter on her new additions."
Claire: "Get out, Evelyn. Get out before I have security throw you out."
Evelyn: "Throw me out? On what grounds? I'm family! Besides, I see the boys found my little message."
Claire: "You approached my four-year-old boys at a public park! You scared them!"
Evelyn: "I merely gave little Liam an important envelope to hand to his father. Is it my fault your children are so easily frightened?"
Mark: "You forged a codicil to Claire's father's will! We know what you did!"
Evelyn: "Forged? Don't be ridiculous. Your father always believed a large family would drain the family estate. He wanted the funds managed responsibly—by me."
Claire: "My father adored big families! He was one of eight children! You're lying through your teeth!"
Evelyn: "It doesn't matter what you think, Claire. The legal document is filed. Since you now have six dependents, the estate trust automatically transfers to my sole management as of tomorrow morning."
Mark: "Not if we present the original paperwork from the family bank vault to the judge tomorrow!"
Evelyn: "The bank vault? Oh, Mark, darling... you really are naive. Who do you think holds the primary key to that safety deposit box?"
Claire: "You took the original will out of the vault?"
Evelyn: "Let's just say it's in a very safe place where no judge will ever find it. Tomorrow, the court will accept my updated copy."
Mark: "You're committing felony fraud, Evelyn!"
Evelyn: "Prove it. It's my word against yours, and right now, you're just an exhausted mother lying in a hospital bed with six expensive mouths to feed."
Liam: "Bad lady! You made Mommy cry!"
Evelyn: "Quiet, child. Adults are speaking."
Claire: "Don't you ever speak to my son like that! Get out!"
Evelyn: "I'm leaving. Enjoy your remaining hours of luxury, Claire. By tomorrow evening, the mansion and the trust fund belong to me."
Mark: "She really thinks she won."
Claire: "Mark... call my father's old private detective. The one who helped us during the probate process five years ago."
Mark: "Detective Vance? Why?"
Claire: "Because my father didn't trust Evelyn either. Before he died, he told me something very important about his office safe at the farm."
Mark: "What did he tell you?"
Claire: "He said if Evelyn ever tried to alter his final wishes, there was a backup audio recording hidden inside the old grandfather clock in the study."
