Evelyn's Lawyer: "Your Honor, my client, Mrs. Evelyn Vance, submits this amended codicil executed by the late Mr. Vance. It explicitly stipulates that full trustee control transfers to Mrs. Vance should the primary beneficiary exceed four living heirs."
Judge Miller: "And where is the primary beneficiary, Mrs. Claire Vance-Miller?"
Evelyn: "Your Honor, my stepdaughter recently gave birth and is currently indisposed at the local hospital. She has failed to appear to contest this petition."
Claire: "I am right here, Your Honor!"
The heavy doors at the back of the courtroom swung open. Claire stood tall in a navy blue suit, her face pale but her posture resolute, supported on one side by Mark. Behind them walked Detective Vance carrying a silver briefcase, followed by their attorney.
Judge Miller: "Mrs. Vance-Miller! You ought to be resting in care!"
Claire: "I wouldn't miss this for the world, Your Honor. Especially not when my stepmother is attempting to steal my children's future using a forged document."
Evelyn: "Forged? How dare you! Your Honor, she is emotionally unstable due to her recent delivery!"
Claire's Lawyer: "Your Honor, we submit Exhibit A: an authenticated audio recording made by the deceased, explicitly predicting this exact fraudulent filing by Mrs. Evelyn Vance."
Judge Miller: "An audio recording? Let me hear it immediately."
The court clerk inserted the drive into the judicial system. The clear, resonant voice of Claire's late father echoed through the high-ceilinged room, filling the silent court with every detail of Evelyn's past crimes and her explicit intention to manipulate the family inheritance.
Judge Miller: "Mrs. Vance... is that your voice on this recording arguing with the deceased about illegal fund transfers?"
Evelyn: "That... that recording is fabricated! It's AI! It's a fake!"
Detective Vance: "Your Honor, I am a licensed private investigator sworn under oath. I retrieved that encrypted recording directly from a secure physical vault at the deceased's estate yesterday afternoon."
Judge Miller: "This court finds the document submitted by the petitioner to be entirely fraudulent. Furthermore, based on the clear evidence of extortion and forgery..."
Evelyn: "Wait! Your Honor, please! Let's talk about this!"
Judge Miller: "Bailiff! Place Mrs. Evelyn Vance under immediate arrest for forgery, perjury, and attempted grand theft!"
Evelyn: "Claire, please! I'm your mother! You can't do this to me!"
