Justice in the St. Regis

The Maid Held Up Her Ring, and the Groom Turned Pale

The two federal agents moved with lightning speed, pinning Julian against the marble pillar before he could even think about running toward the emergency exits.

Julian: Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?!

Special Agent Miller: We know exactly who you are, Mr. Cross. We've been tracking your financial movements across state lines for the past six months.

Victoria: Agent! Arrest him! He stole millions from my daughter! He tried to ruin the Vance family reputation!

Special Agent Miller: Ma'am, we have a federal warrant for wire fraud, identity theft, grand larceny, and interstate transport of stolen property.

The metallic click of handcuffs echoed clearly in the quiet room. Julian lowered his head, his posture collapsing as all his lies crashed down around him.

Julian: Elena... please. Talk to them. Tell them we can settle this out of court. I'll give you everything back... every single penny!

Elena: You don't have anything left to give back, Julian. Everything you bought was paid for with stolen money. The penthouse, the cars, the clothes... it all belongs to the asset recovery pool now.

Chloe: What about my ring?! What about my five-carat engagement ring?!

Elena: Purchased with my grandfather's life insurance payout, Miss Vance. That will be seized by the federal marshals by midnight tonight.

Chloe pulled the massive diamond ring off her finger and threw it at Julian’s feet, sobbing hysterically as her mother pulled her into a tight hug.

Victoria: Our family is ruined... the newspapers are going to destroy us tomorrow!

Elena: You cared more about status and looking down on working people than checking who was sleeping in your daughter's bed, Mrs. Vance. Maybe next time, you'll treat the people who clean your floors with a little more respect.

Victoria: I... I didn't know...

Elena: You didn't care to know. You only saw a maid standing in your way.

The federal agents began escorting Julian toward the heavy glass doors of the hotel lobby, where bright red and blue police lights were already flashing against the high windows.
