Evelyn: I've got you! I've got you, sweetheart!
Evelyn slammed onto the hard marble, her knees scraping painfully, but her arms wrapped tightly around baby Lily. The infant let out a piercing cry, terrified but completely unharmed. Evelyn held the child against her chest, her whole body shaking as she rocked back and forth on the floor.
Victoria: You stupid, meddling girl! You were supposed to stay in the kitchen!
Evelyn: You tried to kill her! She’s your husband’s biological daughter!
Victoria: She’s a mistake that stands between me and fifty million dollars! Do you think anyone will believe a servant over me?
Victoria hurried down the grand staircase, her expensive heels clicking sharply on the steps. Her eyes were dark with rage, her perfect composure entirely shattered. She reached the bottom step and pointed a trembling, manicured finger at Evelyn.
Evelyn: Stay back! Don't come near her!
Victoria: Give me the child right now, Evelyn, or I will make sure you spend the rest of your life in prison for kidnapping!
Evelyn: You're insane! I saw what you did! I saved her life!
Victoria: Who will the police believe? A wealthy socialite or a girl who cleans my toilets for minimum wage?
Evelyn squeezed Lily closer, backing away toward the heavy oak front doors. She could hear Victoria’s aggressive footsteps closing in, but then the double doors suddenly swung open with a loud thud.
Mark: What on earth is happening in here?!
Mark Vance, the child’s father and late CEO's eldest son, stood in the doorway holding a leather briefcase. His eyes moved rapidly from Evelyn on the floor to Victoria standing over her with a look of fury.
Victoria: Mark! Thank God you're home! The maid went crazy and tried to snatch Lily from the upstairs railing!
Evelyn: That's a lie! She dropped her! She tried to drop your daughter over the railing!
