A New Beginning

The Maid Who Saved the Heir

Officer Miller: We'll take the video system log as evidence, sir. She's going away for a very long time.

Victoria was led out the front doors in handcuffs, her high heels dragging against the concrete step as police cruisers flashed blue and red lights across the manicured front lawn.

Mark walked over to Evelyn, who was sitting on the sofa, gently rocking baby Lily in her arms. The child had finally stopped crying and was clinging softly to Evelyn's clean apron.

Mark: Evelyn... I don't even know how to begin to thank you. You risked your own life to catch my daughter.

Evelyn: I just did what anyone would do, Mr. Vance. I couldn't let anything happen to little Lily.

Mark: No, most people would have frozen in fear. You saved my world today.

Evelyn: What will happen to the estate now?

Mark: The divorce lawyer will file for an emergency annulment tomorrow morning. Victoria will never see a single cent of my father's will or the family trust fund.

Mark knelt down beside the sofa, placing a hand gently over his daughter's tiny back. He looked up at Evelyn with deep, genuine respect.

Mark: Starting today, you are no longer the housekeeper here, Evelyn.

Evelyn: Am I... am I being let go, sir?

Mark: Absolutely not. I want to offer you the position of head guardian and household manager for the entire Vance estate, with full salary, medical benefits, and a dedicated trust account for your own children's education.

Evelyn: Mr. Vance... I don't know what to say. That's more than I could ever ask for.

Mark: You saved my daughter when no one else was watching. You belong in this family, Evelyn. This home is safe now because of you.
