The Maid Who Saved the Heir

Victoria: Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?! My father is a judge!

Officer Miller: I don't care if your father is the president, ma'am. You have the right to remain silent.

The officers pulled Victoria's arms behind her back, snapping heavy steel handcuffs onto her wrists. She kicked and screamed, her polished blonde hair falling into her face as they dragged her down the marble stairs she used to rule over.

Victoria: Arthur! Tell them to stop! You can't let them do this to me!

Arthur: You did this to yourself. I hope you spend the rest of your life in a concrete cell.

Victoria: You'll regret this! All of you! That maid won't protect you forever!

The police led Victoria out the grand entrance, her hysterical screams fading into the sound of flashing lights and idling patrol cars. The mansion fell into a sudden, deep silence.

Arthur turned around and knocked softly on the study door.

Arthur: Elena... it's safe now. They took her away.

Elena unlocked the heavy wooden door and stepped out, holding Lily, who was fast asleep against her shoulder. Arthur walked over, tears streaming down his face as he looked at his daughter, touching her tiny cheek with trembling fingers.

Arthur: I almost lost her... I almost lost my baby girl today.

Elena: She's safe, Mr. Ashford. She's going to be okay.

Arthur: You saved her life, Elena. You risked yourself to catch her on that hard floor. How can I ever repay you for that?

Elena: You don't owe me anything, sir. I just did what any human being would do.

Arthur: No... most people would have frozen in fear. You didn't. You acted.
