A New Beginning

The Maid Who Saved the Heir

Arthur: Starting today, Elena, you're not working as a maid in this house anymore.

Elena lowered her head, a sudden knot forming in her throat as she misconstrued his words.

Elena: I... I understand, sir. I'll collect my things and leave right away—

Arthur: No, Elena, that's not what I mean at all. Look at me.

Elena looked up, seeing warmth and deep respect in the wealthy man's eyes.

Arthur: I want to offer you a full-time position as Lily's official guardian and nanny. You'll have your own suite in the house, a real salary, full health insurance, and funds for your family back home.

Elena: Mr. Ashford... I don't know what to say. That's... that's too much.

Arthur: It's not enough. You saved my world today. I need someone in this house who genuinely loves my daughter, not someone who sees her as an obstacle to money.

Elena: I love this little girl with all my heart. I promise I will always protect her.

Arthur: I know you will. Welcome to the family, Elena.

Six months later, the court finalized Victoria's trial. She was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison for attempted murder and grand forgery, her claims to the Ashford estate completely revoked by the judge.

In the Ashford mansion, laughter filled the once-cold marble foyer. Little Lily took her very first steps across the floor, reaching out her tiny hands toward Elena, who caught her with a bright smile, holding her tight in the warm morning light.
