The screen showed Victoria walking out of the master bedroom, pushing the stroller toward the top of the stairs. There was no maid in sight on the upper floor. Victoria stopped at the landing, adjusted her dress, and looked down over the railing to confirm that Elena was busy cleaning down below.
Arthur: Look at this, Victoria. Look at what you did.
On the video playback, Victoria reached out with both hands, disengaged the wheel lock with her foot, and gave the stroller a firm, deliberate push forward over the edge of the top step. She then stepped back, folded her arms, and watched it roll down without screaming or reaching out to stop it.
Arthur: You monster... you deliberate, evil monster!
Victoria: Arthur, wait! That’s... that’s not what it looks like! The stroller was heavy, my hand slipped!
Arthur: Slipped?! You pushed it with both hands! You disengaged the safety brake first! I watched your foot do it on this screen!
Arthur slammed his fist onto his mahogany desk, making the lamp rattle violently. He lunged forward, charging toward the doorway where Victoria stood. He stopped inches from her face, his eyes blazing with pure hatred.
Arthur: You tried to kill my daughter! My innocent, one-year-old child!
Victoria: I didn't mean to hurt her! I just wanted her out of the way! You give her everything and you won't even sign the updated prenup or transfer the estate trust to my name!
Arthur: You did this for money?! For the trust fund?!
Victoria: You care more about that child than you do about me! If she wasn't here, I would be the sole beneficiary of your entire estate!
Elena: Oh my God... you tried to murder a baby for an inheritance?!
Arthur: Get out of my face before I do something I’ll regret!
